About Scott at Garden State Mosquito and Tick

Meet Scott Policastro

My name is Scott Policastro, and I'm a lifetime resident of Monmouth County, New Jersey.

Getting rid of ticks and mosquitoes isn’t just my business—it’s deeply personal to me and my family.

When I was 19 years old, I developed a mysterious disease that kept me bedridden and out of work for an entire year. Doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. Over time, I slowly started to get well enough to work again, but I never fully recovered. I lived with constant pain throughout my body and a severely weakened immune system for years.

In 2014, I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease and several coinfections including Bartonella and Babesia.

In 2012, after my wife had our daughter, she started experiencing severe joint pain and debilitating headaches. Some days she could barely get out of bed. In 2014, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease and Bartonella.

My son is a typical boy—he loves being outside, running around, playing in the yard. I had pulled ticks off him before and didn’t think much of it. When he started complaining of being tired and sore, we had him tested. In 2018, my son tested positive for Lyme disease.

In a family of four, three of us have tested positive for Lyme disease. It has been a battle for us ever since.

Why I Started This Company

After what my family has been through, I made it my mission to protect other Monmouth County families from tick-borne diseases. I don’t want any family to experience what we’ve endured.

Getting rid of ticks and mosquitoes to allow people to enjoy their yards without worry of disease is something that is truly important to me.

Why We’re Different

Owner Evaluates Every Property
When you call Garden State Mosquito & Tick, you get the owner—not rotating technicians. The owner personally evaluates every property, designs every treatment plan, and performs most treatments. We remember your property, your concerns, and your family.

We’re Local
We’re lifetime Monmouth County residents based in Tinton Falls. Not a franchise. Not a national chain. Your neighbors. Our families live here. When we treat your property, we’re protecting our community.

Monmouth County Only
Competitors spread across multiple counties. We focus exclusively on Monmouth County’s 54 municipalities. We know why Highlands has the worst saltmarsh mosquitoes, where Holmdel’s severe ticks come from, how Wreck Pond affects shore towns differently.

We Understand What You’re Facing
When you’re worried about ticks, we don’t just sympathize—we understand personally. We’ve lived through what happens when ticks aren’t controlled. We know the stakes.

Honest About Results
No unrealistic promises. Expect 90-95% reduction with consistent treatment. We explain what we control and what we can’t. Why every-21-days matters for mosquitoes, every-60-days for ticks.
